From the Vault – 2020 Meditation

I found a prayer of gratitude, today, that I wrote on the last day of 2020. I cried. For how long ago it seemed, what a different world it was, and also that we were only 9 months into the pandemic. For the emotional turbulence that we have all been through. For the fragile hope I sought to express with no idea of what would happen next. Because I am in awe of all of the ways that we have continued to work to show up for each other.

For all that we have that held us up this year:

For prophets and dreamers,
for warriors and movers and believers.
For the relentless.
For the marchers and the protectors.
For those who fed and donated and delivered,
those who hoped and prayed and dared.

For the transcendent,
the awkward,
the Glorious.

For those who should be here.

For vulnerability and laughter.

For following, and pivoting, and still embracing.

For courage and strength.
For falling, and failing, and getting back up.

For starting and not stopping.

For faith

through believing that something we can’t yet touch is possible.

Thank you.

May your 2023 be led by grace and your spirit filled with peace.

FMc 2022.
